SaaS

Software as a Service (SaaS) refers to applications that are accessed via the Internet—as a service. Instead of installing software onto a computer, you access it using the Internet. This means data can be stored on the online, the software and data can be accessed by any device, and data can be shared easily and effectively between multiple users. Often times, SaaS applications are called web-based software, on-demand software, or hosted software. SaaS offerings tend to come as subscription services with clear purchase tiers to access different functions or features. Many SaaS products are intended to be "self-serve", where the user doesn't require a ton of customization or account management to be able to sign-up and use the product successfully.

Dropbox, HubSpot, Microsoft Office 365 (cloud-based)
